SHEFFIELD – On May 3 (Beijing time), Chinese 22‑year‑old Wu Yize pulled off a stunning 17-16 semi‑final victory over Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen at the World Snooker Championship, reaching the final for the first time in his career.

Trailing 14-16, Wu won three straight frames to force a deciding frame. In the decider, Allen made a fatal error on the black ball, and Wu stepped in with a 71‑break clearance to snatch the win. Wu hit four centuries and 13 breaks over 50, including a tournament‑high 142 in the second session. He becomes the first Chinese player born in the 2000s to reach a World Championship final, joining Ding Junhui and Zhao Xintong as Chinese finalists.
