Bayern broke the deadlock just before halftime. Serge Gnabry threaded a perfect through ball to Luis Díaz, who calmly slotted into the far corner to make it 1-0. Just 30 seconds after the restart, Harry Kane doubled the lead, curling a superb shot from outside the box after a cutback from Michael Olise. Real Madrid pulled one back in the 74th minute when Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered a low cross and Kylian Mbappé tapped in from close range.
