In the late hours of Wednesday, June 25, a passenger ferry carrying 65 people sank in the Bali Strait, resulting in at least 4 confirmed deaths and 43 still missing, while 20 survivors were pulled from the sea.
The vessel, identified as the KMP Tunu Pratama Jaya, was en route from Ketapang Port in East Java to Gilimanuk Port in Bali when it sank just 30 minutes after departure, around 11:35 PM local time.
