Viktor in Arcane Season 2: A New Path Emerges
Viktor took a major hit during Jinx's councilor bombing. Jayce, burdened with guilt as he brought Viktor there, carried his lifeless body and let the Hexcore assimilate him. Trapped in a strange substance, Viktor's body was repaired by the Hexcore. 😱
When he regained consciousness, Viktor stumbled upon the blueprints Jayce used to weaponize Hextech – the very weapons that armed Caitlyn, Vi, and the other Enforcers. Feeling betrayed and let down by Jayce, Viktor made the choice to leave Piltover and return to Zaun. 💔
Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger later realized that the Arcane had directly influenced Viktor and was the origin of the strange cocoon during his recovery. Meanwhile, Viktor assumed the role of a savior as he strolled through the lowest depths of Zaun. 🌟
At the end of Season 2 Act 1, we witnessed him relieving Zaunites of their corruption and pain. 😇
Viktor in Arcane: The Journey Begins
Our first encounter with Viktor was when he was assigned to look into the break-in at Jayce's place, carried out by Violet, Powder, Mylo, and Claggor. At that time, Viktor was the assistant to the Piltover Academy Dean, Heimerdinger. 🎓
Viktor and Jayce bonded over their shared passion for science, and together they advanced Jayce's research on Hextech. While Jayce focused on practical applications (like the Atlas Gauntlets for miners), Viktor delved deeper into Hexcore development. According to Viktor, the Hexcore is a form of Hextech that can adapt and learn. 🤓
Arcane's Viktor has an ironclad will for progress and evolution. Eventually, he uncovered that the Hexcore could mend his frail body. He sacrificed a lot for his work, and the Hexcore became intertwined with his biological structure. 💉
He sought Singed's assistance with the Hexcore, and Singed provided him with Shimmer to ease the augmentation process. All of this, of course, was unbeknownst to Jayce. 😏
Viktor persisted in his Hexcore research and body augmentation. However, after a disastrous experiment that cost him his assistant and childhood friend Sky, he decided to call it quits. He then asked Jayce to destroy the Hexcore. 😭
Viktor in League of Legends: A Different Machine
"The Machine Herald" Viktor in League of Legends presents a completely distinct appearance. Unlike the organic-metal body he obtained from Hexcore augmentation in Arcane, the LoL version of Viktor has a more fabricated look. 🛠️
He was introduced as a playable champion in December 2011 and functions as a mage in the mid lane. His abilities are all about his mechanist persona, featuring lasers, gravity traps, and lightning storms. ⚡
An older iteration of Viktor's gameplay involved an item in his inventory. This item started as the "Prototype Hex Core" and could be upgraded throughout the game into the "Perfect Hex Core." This was the original method for evolving his abilities. Now, his abilities can be evolved without the Hex Core, relying instead on unit kills. 👾
His initial backstory was also different. The fact that he and Jayce collaborated remains. But his mechanical body was the result of a self-performed surgery after his return to Zaun. At odds with Jayce, he launched assaults on Jayce's lab and vowed to bring the Glorious Evolution to those who followed him. Since Riot has made Arcane canon, this version of Viktor might soon be revised. 📜
Viktor is also renowned for creating a metal golem named Blitzcrank. He intended for the golem to assist in Zaun's clean-up efforts after a chemical spill. 🤖
