When you venture into the Social Hub in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you'll spot the Trade button. It's grayed out and ominously labeled "Coming Soon." Although we're uncertain about the exact timeline, some recent leaks suggest that this "soon" might not be too far off.
At launch, three Booster Packs from the Genetic Apex series were made available. There are more expansions on the horizon. Numerous datamines, leaks, and rumors point to new arrivals in both December 2024 and January 2025.
Many speculate that one of these expansion periods will coincide with the introduction of trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket. It's highly probable that it's ready for rollout, and the developers are simply biding their time, allowing players to amass a substantial collection before enabling card exchanges.
And when trading does debut, don't anticipate a simple back-and-forth card-sending process. There'll likely be a stamina system, similar to what's in place for pack openings and Wonder Picks. There may also be limitations, implying that trading rare cards will necessitate a rare card or an equivalent stack of cards in return.
