Labubu Mania Hits Singapore

On August 25, Pop Mart hosted a three-day toy exhibition in Singapore. On the first day alone, massive crowds lined up to buy Labubu figures, creating such a frenzy that even the police had to intervene.

What Is Labubu?

Labubu is a character designed by Kasing Lung, a Pop Mart-signed artist. Inspired by Nordic forest elves, Labubu is part of THE MONSTERS clan, a tribe of about 100 ancient spirits who live carefree in the forest—possibly even older than the dinosaurs!

  • Features: 9 sharp little fangs, upright pointy ears, about the size of a cat, mischievous and overly energetic, curious about everything!

Labubu’s Origins

Labubu first appeared in Kasing Lung’s picture book “The Mysterious Buka”. Initially a 2D character, Labubu was brought to life through a collaboration with toy brand how2work, and later became part of Pop Mart’s designer toy universe, quickly rising to become the top IP in the blind box world.

Key Members of Labubu’s Family – THE MONSTERS

  • Zimomo: The leader, taller than Labubu, with a tail, loves adventure and play.
  • Mokoko: Pink fur, white belly, curly lashes, heart-shaped nose, proud of her appearance and a bit self-obsessed.
  • Tycoco: A cheerful but timid skeleton who feeds on plant seeds. One Labubu is even dating Tycoco!

Why Are Lisa and Rosé Obsessed with Labubu?

  • Lisa frequently showcases Labubu in her social media posts—as bag charms, collectibles, or cuddly companions.
  • Fans believe she got Rosé hooked on Labubu too!
