Eiyuden's Card Game offers Poker enthusiasts a familiar high-scoring experience, but with a twist: you'll be managing three hands simultaneously. The fun doesn't stop there, as you can acquire special cards that grant extra points based on specific conditions. And the real prize? You might even recruit a brand-new character! But don't fret if it seems daunting; we've got your back. We'll guide you step-by-step through the gameplay and provide you with all the tips and tricks to ensure your victory!
How To Unlock The Card Battle Game
To unlock Card Battles, recruit Glen, who can be found in Arenside after you've accessed the Euchrisse region (following the completion of the Proving Ground dungeon). Initially, you'll have to defeat Glen in a simplified Card Battle using only standard cards.
During this encounter, avoid placing cards with values below 7. Additionally, strive to achieve straights, three-of-a-kind, or hands with matching suits. However, it's crucial to emphasize that for now, the higher the card values, the more advantageous it will be. Do not overvalue specific hand combinations over simply having higher-numbered cards.
Where Do I Go To Play The Card Game After Its Unlocked?
Initially, you might think you'll play the Card Game similarly to Beigoma, given that Eiyuden promises card matches against various characters. But the Card Game operates differently. Instead of approaching individuals for a challenge, you'll visit Glen's stall and select your opponents from there. Impressively, you can even compete against every character you've recruited, Glen among them.
Each opponent is graded from C to A, primarily based on their deck's composition. Those with more standard cards tend to have a lower grade, while A-tier competitors showcase decks nearly comprised entirely of special cards.
How To Play The Card Game
In the Eiyuden Card Game, you'll be dealt three hands. The one with the highest value cards will prevail. Scoring extra points is possible by achieving a straight, three matching cards, or all cards of the same suit. A straight of the same suit will yield the highest bonus points.
At the start, with a basic deck, those bonus points may not be enough to outscore a low-value hand. However, nearly every special card is worth 8 or 9 points when its conditions are met. That's why it's crucial to build your deck swiftly, as it will enable you to create numerous winning combinations.
Keep an eye on the crowns - they represent victory points. Each hand you win grants you points, starting with one for the first, then two for the second, and three for the third. It's natural to want to play your strongest cards in the hand that offers the most points.
Remember, the value of different hands can sway the victory points. Even if your opponent takes two hands, if you can win the most valuable one (worth three points) with a bonus-scoring hand, you'll still emerge as the winner. Sometimes, the cards may not align perfectly. In such cases, it's acceptable to prioritize two hands over the third to increase your chances of winning.
How To Build Your Deck
Your deck's power will grow as you purchase new cards from Glen. As you progress, you'll unlock five distinct card packs, each more costly than the last but holding increasingly potent cards. To access these higher-tier packs, you'll need to upgrade your castle and expand your deck collection with Iris's blueprints and investments.
Once you've collected some novel cards, it's time to swap out the standard ones. Each unique card surpasses the standard in terms of strength, so it's essential to incorporate them into your deck as soon as possible. Typically, unique cards have specific activation conditions, such as:
- All cards in this hand must be odd or even numbers.
- Each card in this hand must be of a different suit.
- This hand must contain cards of a specified suit (color depends on the card).
- The opponent has played a card with a specific value or suit.
These are just a few of the common requirements. It's vital to formulate and adhere to strategic deck-building principles. For instance, having a stack of odd cards with a bonus that triggers when all cards in the hand are odd can lead to significant scoring opportunities.
Card Packs
As you delve into the card shop, you'll encounter six different card packs available for purchase. Initially, you'll have access to the starter pack. The subsequent five packs, however, require castle upgrades to unlock. Each successive pack offers an increasing number of cards. Although we don't have a definitive list specifying which cards are unique to each pack, we are confident that Nowa and Leene are exclusively found in the Extra Pack 4. The ultimate pack doesn't introduce any novel cards but instead accelerates the acquisition of rare cards.
How To Recruit Shixeen
Just as in many aspects of Eiyuden, the Card Game boasts a recruitable character beyond Glen. To enlist Shixeen's services, you must engage and vanquish 15 opponents in a series of Card Battles.
The ranks of these opponents are irrelevant; you may choose to take on the weaker ones if you prefer. Nevertheless, Shixeen herself poses a formidable challenge. Before recruiting her, you must defeat her in a Card Battle, and she boasts a fully equipped deck. Therefore, facing tougher opponents beforehand would better prepare you for the showdown with Shixeen.
