Shadow Suicune Pokémon GO Raid Guide: Conquer with Weakness & Counters!

Shadow Suicune is back in Pokémon GO Shadow Raids on Saturdays and Sundays in November! It's a powerful Water-type Raid attacker and for the first time, you can encounter its shiny form with 1 in 20 odds like other Five Star Raids.

Weaknesses and Counters

Shadow Suicune has weaknesses to Electric and Grass-types and resistances to Fire, Ice, Steel, and Water-types. Here are some great counters:

  • Mega Sceptile: Fury Cutter & Frenzy Plant
  • Kartana: Razor Leaf & Leaf Blade
  • Mega Rayquaza: Dragon Tail & Drason Ascent
  • Raikou: Thunder Shock & Wild Charge
  • Xurkitree: Thunder Shock & Discharge
  • Zekrom: Charge Beam & Fusion Bolt
  • Mega Venusaur: Vine Whip & Frenzy Plant
  • Mega Ampharos: Volt Switch & Zap Cannon
  • Mega Manectric: Thunder Fang & Wild Charge
  • Roserade: Magical Leaf & Grass Knot
  • Electivire: Thunder Shock & Wild Charge
  • Tapu Bulu: Bullet Seed & Grass Knot

The best are Mega Sceptile and Kartana. Any Pokémon listed in its Mega form is also good in its standard form, but remember only one can be Mega Evolved at a time.

Shiny and Mega Evolutions

Yes, Shadow Suicune can be shiny after the raid. Mega Evolutions can help get more Suicune candy and XL candy. Pokémon like Blastoise, Slowbro, Gyrados, Swampert, and Kyogre can be Mega Evolved for this.

Trainers Needed and IV Values

You MUST have Purified Gems. Trainers using Party Play with good counters need at least 4, but most should aim for 6 (ideally 8). A 100% IV Shadow Suicune is very rare. Look for 1704 CP or 2130 CP (Weather Boosted).

Weather Effects

  • Sunny: Boosts Grass-type counters.
  • Windy: Boosts Shadow Suicune's Psychic-type attack.
  • Partly Cloudy: No effect.
  • Cloudy: No effect.
  • Snow: Boosts Shadow Suicune's Ice-type attack.
  • Rainy: Boosts Electric-type counters and gives a higher CP Shadow Suicune, but also boosts its Water-type attacks.
  • Fog: No effect.

Sunny or Rainy weather is best for the raid. Good luck, trainers!
