Varesa: The Basics
Varesa is a highly - anticipated 5 - star Electro Catalyst user from Natlan. She holds the distinction of being the first 5 - star Electro character from this region and the second Catalyst user as well. Soon, players will be able to play as Varesa alongside Iansan in an upcoming update.

Varesa's Combat Skills
Normal Attack: By the Horns
Varesa has a distinct normal attack sequence. Every hit deals Electro DMG. Both her charged attack and plunge attack are Nightsoul - aligned.
- Charged Attack: Varesa headbutts opponents in front and launches herself into the air.
- Plunge Attack: Landing a plunge attack on an enemy or while in combat rewards her with Nightsoul points. If she reaches the maximum Nightsoul points this way, she enters the Fiery Passion state. In the Fiery Passion state, all her normal, charged, and plunge attacks deal increased damage.
Elemental Skill: Riding the Night - Rainbow
This skill has two versions: Tap and Hold.
- Tap: Varesa rushes forward, dealing Nightsoul - aligned Electro DMG to enemies in her path. She also gains 20 Nightsoul points and the "Follow - Up Strike" effect.
- Hold: She enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state and switches to Sudden Onrush mode.
The skill has 2 charges. When Varesa enters the Fiery Passion state, the cooldown resets, and the skill deals more damage.
Fiery Passion
- Outside of the Fiery Passion state, Varesa's Plunging Attacks earn her Nightsoul points.
- She enters the Fiery Passion state when she reaches the maximum Nightsoul points through Plunging Attacks or after using her Elemental Burst.
- In the Fiery Passion state, she also enters the Nightsoul's Blessing state. All her Normal Attacks, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst receive buffs. Additionally, a special Elemental Burst can be unleashed after a Plunging Attack in this state.
Elemental Burst: A Dazzling Descent!
Varesa deals Nightsoul - aligned AoE Electro DMG and enters the Fiery Passion state. If she's already in the Fiery Passion state when using this burst, the damage dealt is even higher. After a Plunging Attack in the Fiery Passion state, Varesa activates Apex Drive.
Apex Drive
- Increases her interruption resistance.
- Allows Varesa to ignore her Elemental Burst's cooldown and consume less energy when using her special Elemental Burst, "Dazzling Descent: Volcanic Collapse."
Varesa's Passive Skills
Tag - Team Triple Jump!
After using her Elemental Skill, the damage of her next plunging attack is boosted. This boost is more significant when she's in the Fiery Passion state.
The Hero Twice - Returned!
Varesa gains a stacking ATK buff whenever a party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst.
Blazing Heart, Singular Advance
- Increases Varesa's Sprint speed. However, while out of combat, her Stamina consumption during sprinting also rises.
- In areas with Phlogiston Mechanics, party members restore 20 Phlogiston when consuming food. This effect doesn't work in Domains or the Spiral Abyss.
Varesa's Constellations
Undying Passion
- The bonus damage from Tag - Team Triple Jump! is always enhanced, regardless of Varesa's Fiery Passion state.
- She gets an ATK buff when entering or exiting the Fiery Passion state.
- While in Sudden Onrush mode, she consumes fewer Nightsoul points.
Beyond the Edge of Light
- Enters Apex Drive after a Plunge Attack, regardless of the Fiery Passion state.
- The interruption resistance from Apex Drive is increased.
- Restores energy when hitting an enemy with a Plunge Attack.
- Elemental Burst level and level cap are increased.
The Courage to Press On
Gains different buffs depending on her state when using Elemental Burst:
- When neither Fiery Passion nor Apex Drive is active, there's a massive increase in Plunging Attack DMG.
- If either Fiery Passion or Apex Drive is active, the Elemental Burst deals more damage.
Thoughts Floating on the Warm Breeze
Normal Attack level and level cap are increased.
A Hero of Justice's Triumph
- Restores Energy when entering Apex Drive.
- Plunge Attacks and Elemental Burst gain CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.
- When using the Hold version of Elemental Skill or tapping the Elemental Skill in Sudden Onrush mode, restores Nightsoul points to the maximum.
