**Genshin Impact: All Hidden Chests in the Fontaine Research Institute Region Guide**
**Version 4.1 of Genshin Impact introduced players to the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Engineering, commonly known as the Fontaine Research Institute. Once a paradise for researchers from various fields, the area is now in ruins due to excessive ambitions. The terrain differs significantly from previous patches because of the Allogravity-Condensed Water Bodies floating above the ruins. However, the game maintains its smart way of testing players' visual cues and exploration skills through its witty hidden chests. Experienced players know the feeling of getting a chest that doesn't look like one and the momentary satisfaction it brings. Here are some hidden chests that players might have missed during exploration because they were either hard to spot or seemed too random to result in a chest**:
**Hidden Chest #1**:
Many players will likely recognize this one, as the 'fruit in the tree' trick was seen in Mondstat before. It's potentially the easiest in the region, but some might consider it a glitch. Just teleport to the waypoint at the New Fontaine Research Institute and head west. Once out of the building and slightly turning left, players should be able to see the Bulle Fruit on the tree. Climb the tree and click on the fruit to get a Common Chest and 2 Primogems.
**Hidden Chest #2**:
This one can be a bit tricky as it might go unnoticed being a regular enemy. There's a group of Anemo slimes floating around some trees south of the area. Teleport to the westernmost waypoint in the region and head south up the mountain. At the base of the next mountain, there will be a group of trees with the Anemo slimes above. Shooting each slime will give players an Exquisite Chest and 5 Primogems.
**Hidden Chest #3**:
Teleport to the waypoint southeast of the Experimental Field Generator and head northeast. Players will find many trees with Bulle Fruits on the ground. Picking up all the fruits nearby will earn them an Exquisite Chest. Note that a group of Treasure Hoarders will spawn when getting closer to the chest. After defeating them, travelers can get the usual 5 Primogems from the chest.
**Hidden Chest #4**:
Teleport to the Central Laboratory Ruins and go to the westernmost cube. There will be several rocks in the water, and one will have a shining spot. Unfortunately, this spot is a bit odd and can't be interacted with. Simply swim close to it and wait for the light to disappear and sparkle on the next rock. Follow the sparkle until the end to get a Common Chest and 2 Primogems. Be careful when following the shining spot as the rocks are close to the edge, and players could fall out of the Allogravity Condensed Water Body.
**Hidden Chest #5**:
This hidden chest is located at the top of a mountain near the Statue of Seven in the middle of the Fontaine Research Institute Region. Teleport to the Statue of Seven and head east, then climb to the mountain's peak. There, players can find a Pyro barrel. It's easier to have a bow unit in the team to avoid being knocked off the peak when the barrel explodes. Once done, this will give players an Exquisite Chest and 5 Primogems.
**Hidden Chest #6**:
For this final chest, players need to teleport to the underwater waypoint north of the Experimental Field Generator Boss. Head west and stay close to the seabed, swimming in a straight line until reaching the submerged underwater tower. Under the tower, there will be a bunch of cans scattered on the seafloor. Players must break all the cans to receive an Exquisite Chest and the 5 Primogems with it. Additionally, remember that there are some cans hidden behind a nearby rock that also needs to be broken. The rock and the cans can be broken using the ability of the xenochromatic jellyfish found swimming nearby. Although many of these chests can go unnoticed, it's crucial for players to keep an eye out for anything that seems out of the ordinary, as they can bring great rewards and exploration benefits.
