There are four companions in total in Avowed. But when you're out exploring, you can only have two by your side at a time. Fortunately, you can find all of them at any camp spot. Here, the Envoy has the opportunity to talk to them or swap companions for the next leg of your adventure.
How To Unlock Kai As A Companion In Avowed

Yatzli is a Wizard with a wide array of powerful abilities. She can freeze and stun enemies with her attacks, and she has a particularly devastating move where she can summon an explosive giant magic ball that can wipe out a large group of enemies in one go.
