As per tradition, Apple will hold its new product launch event in September, introducing the next generation of iPhone series smartphones and other products. Current reports indicate that alongside the four new models of the iPhone 17 series, this event may also feature a significant number of other products targeting different market segments.
It is reported that the iPhone 17 series will include four versions: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Recent product leaks now largely reflect the final mass-production versions.
Among them, the all-new
iPhone 17 Air
model will replace the Plus model, focusing on being
sleek and lightweight
. This marks the first truly redesigned iPhone in years. However, prioritizing a thin and light experience comes with trade-offs in core specifications. It will share the standard A19 chip with the base model and have less internal space allocated for the battery.
Recent leaks have revealed images of the iPhone 17 Air's battery. This battery features a
compact and refined design
, with a capacity of approximately
2,900mAh
. The battery is
encased in a metal shell
, with a design style similar to the iPhone 16 Pro. This design is expected to improve heat dissipation and support higher charging power.
The higher-end
iPhone 17 Pro series
will completely abandon the long-standing top-left vertical triple-camera array. Instead, it adopts a
large horizontal camera module
that occupies the entire top section of the device. The LiDAR scanner and flash are positioned independently on the right side, creating a more layered visual effect. Additionally, a new
Camera Control button
will be added to the top edge of the chassis, complementing the existing Camera Control button on the bottom right
The two iPhone 17 Pro series models will also debut a
vapor chamber (VC) cooling system
. Based on images, the iPhone 17 Pro series will use a copper vapor chamber component, similar in structure to those found in high-end Android flagships.
The biggest highlight of the
standard iPhone 17
is the upgrade of its screen refresh rate from 60Hz (on the iPhone 16) to
120Hz
, delivering smoother animations and improved responsiveness. However, unlike the iPhone 17 Pro series, the standard iPhone 17
lacks ProMotion technology
. Its refresh rate will be
fixed at 120Hz
and cannot dynamically adjust.
